Unhappy Sol Jet Problem

HI FOLKS,
Im new to this forum and hope you can help. iv'e been running the sol jet sc500 for four years without a problem. I recently had the heater upgrade fitted and switched to eco sol max inks I printed 40 yds of vynil in two days with no problems, and great results. The machie stood idle for 1 day and the
lc. and lm cartridgeds drained into the bottle and over the floor, this is while the printer was in sleep mode. I made enquiries to my dealer,( a good man)
he reprted the problem to roland but had no response. I replaced the carts with new ones(440mls). and the printer work fine for several days. this morning I came into the workshop to find ink all over the floor, and the bottle overflowing, same two carts. HELP!!! Thanks in advance, Tim Barker

Check your capping station. Sounds like the sponge in the caps are swollen and touching the heads.

Yes the sponges in your capping stations have swollen up and touched the bottom of the heads. You need to replace the capping staition tops (about $30 each).

As a quick fix you can carefully remove the top layer of sponge in the capping station top (It may not look like it but there are 2 layers). Just use a set of tweezers to remove the top layer.

I had problems with the sponges with mine when I converted to Triangle inks. You may have to do as I did and replace the sponges with lint free cloth. Has worked great ever since.
