Default Grey gradients, from grey to white?

I have ONE client who has insisted on putting in a large grey gradient through the background of his design. It looks great on paper but has a slight green streak going through it when it's printed.

I have an eye one, have done custom profiles, etc., but is there a way to fix this just for this order?

I'm running Flexi 8 on my Roland XC-540.

I rarely have any issue with color, but greys, as everyone knows, are super difficult to deal with.

Re-linearize just before you print the job. That should tighten it up a bit.

step 1: relinearize

if it still isn't good...
step 2: relinearize and reprofile

if it still isn't good...
step 3: make excuses

Remind me, what's the process of relinearizing in Flexi?

I built a few profiles, then haven't done it for a while.

I have a feeling this one is going to be a lost cause. It's a HUGE gradient over a 7" or so background of an oval sticker.

Not conversant with Flexi but input profiles can make a big difference in Onyx. Using USWebcoatedSWOP greys come out yellowish. Dupontwaterproof is much more neutral. YMMV.

I also like the "deny, deny, and counter accuse" approach.

Well...color is subjective. So you are wrong and the print is right.

After all, the customer is always wrong. Right?

Ask them "what did you do to it?"

Maybe it was perceptual vs colorimetric intent that gave me diff greys//
