I dont think anyone outside of Roland in the US has seen or used the inks. They are keeping it pretty tight lipped around here. The only thing they have really said is it has greater benifits and will be released in September.

And by Christmas Roland will be releasing their EcoSol Max 2 inks

I can't say how Mimaki has been since I don't keep up with their inks, but it seems that every other month Roland is releasing some new improved ink. And how many versions of their eco-solvent printers were there before they got it basically right.

Its nice that Roland is trying to improve things for their customers, but wouldn't they be better off making fewer, but better improvements to their offerings??

I dont believe Roland has changed their ink in over a year. Atleast not since I have had my machine.

Eco-Sol inks are newer to the market than Full Solvent inks, thus more likely to change. The fact is Rolands current Eco-Sol inks are not up to par and something has to be done to improve the duribility of the inks. If the new Roland inks are everything they are saying it will be a good upgrade for most everyone.

Its kind of funny how different people view change. It is hard for MFG to find a good balance between updates, improvements, changes, new products, ect.
