Tile overlap results in abnormal print?
Using Onyx Production House 7.1.. Mimaki JV3 160s
I import an image into the rip - client supplied pdf Rotate 90deg clockwise, Set the overall size 600mmw x 5000mmh (after rotate, its a 5m wide menu board) - set the tiling to split it half way up - 2x tiles of 600mmw x 2500mmh, with overlap of 20mm - which is what I'd normally use. Set it to rip & then hit the print button. It starts to print but the image looks wrong - as if the file is corrupted somehow.. there is a 1cm wide band printing in a totally different colour (blue not orange) going along what will end up being the top of the image? tried same image supplied in eps format by client, but resaved as pdf / tiff, makes no difference. Then I tried switching the 20mm overlap off.. Prints perfectly  , & I noticed it wasn't printing in the same place as the failures - it was smaller. I worked out that when the overlap is set on, its actually printing this 1cm of random image in addition to the 600mm I want. I've left it with the blue band on for now as I need the overlap in the middle - we'll just chop the blue bit off.. Any ideas why this may be happening? Chirs @ SWCL |
