Wasatch and Versaworks are 2 totally different programs.
Wasatch = ColorRip.

I hope this is true for you - generally the media profile = printer profile when the printer is using that media.

YOu want a "media profile" for each media you run on your printer. They may label it as a "printer profile" but it is for the combination of printer/ink/media/resolution.

actually we're just using one icc media profile/one setting for all types of media we're using on our RCC4 and PhotoPrint Server Pro, but with wasatch, it seems we have to adjust the settings everytime we print.

Allow me to cast my vote on Wasatch, allthough its an slightly older version (5.1.1), bought secondhand, and still in the mail... First RIP ´cept for the B&W QuadToneRIP, so I expect a preeetty steep curve comming on...

Btw I found this Forum via www.Dpreview, recommended by gtrev, so please let me introduce myself.

Kind Regards

I use and support many rips, but have been playing with Caldera lately. It is very powerful and is mostly for larger printhouses with multiple printers and technologies. (although they have lesser versions for smaller shops) Their tools for profile generation are top notch, and believe me, I'm picky with that part of the program. Also it runs on a MAC which is nice if you into MACs... it also runs on Linux (but not XP or Vista). I have been very impressed with it and if anyone would like to contact me about it I'd be happy to share my experiences.

I also noticed nobody is using Ergosoft. It is a seriously great RIP. It's a pain for me 'cause they only give me a 30 day code at a time (developer), but they have some incredible features in their linerization process. Also, their color output has been winning contests out there... another RIP to look at for the serious printer.
