Just wondered what everyone uses to design in?? Say im doing a 30" x 10' banner and I wanna add images and bevel text, shadow and so on? What do you use? I am trying Photoshop but it seems hard to view closeup to see what it will look like doing a LARGE print.

I use Flexi, Corel & photoshop myself... They each do some things better than the other. If you have Flexi you might want to check this out.

I use Omega Composer from Gerber and Illustrator. Photoshop ocassionally, but I prefer to stay vector when I can.

I'm using the Corel suite (draw and photopaint) and the Alien Skin plug-ins for the cool effects. I then export either as EPS, TIFF or sometimes JPG for the RIP program.

Adobe CS suite. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Pro.
All this is interesting discussion, but what really matters is what you are efficeint at using. A good user makes more difference than the software (to a degree). Personally I don't know how anyone gets along without Photoshop. But that is just me.

Signlab 7.1, photoshop.
You can pretty much do all of that directly in Signlab, especially if you add all the eyecandy stuff. |
