Ok- I installed my new 6.0 Friday and got it working- called support with a
dumbo question which they answered. My service contract ran out on Sunday and they are not open weekends, so I stayed Friday night until the Wasatch tech serv closed and tried to check everything out. The print/cut worked fine- but I did not try print/lam/cut until today- bad. I spent a couple of hours this morning trying to figure it out- no luck. It looks like a new service contract on my version is $150 and in the last 6 months I think that I have called them twice- so I am trying to avoid that. The problem is the cut does not line up and the cut is wrong. Imagine printing 3- 4" circles with reg marks / laminating / line up the reg marks on the printer and the first (right) circle cuts over 2" from where it should start- then cuts 3 ovals that are the correct height but obviously too narrow and ends the cut where the outline should be on the left side of the circles. I have done the print alignment procedure on the printer- nothing has changed. I checked the two print units that I used (one print with reg marks- one cut only) to make sure that the media widths agree and width center boxes are both checked. Any other ideas? Fortunately I have my Edge to finish this job (at a much higher price) so I do not have a deadline problem. Thanks Gene |

Just for fun, create 2 versions of your job. One as a print only, and one with no color and just the cut lines. Make sure they are the exact job with same dimensions. Print the print-only job with the alignment marks, lam if you wnat, then load the media and have the printer do the alignment. Then send the cut-only job instead of from the saved cut-queue, and see if you get any different results. You should get the same as if it were a print/cut. If it cuts it correctly, then there's something wierd about how the cut path is getting placed into the cut-queue. Unfortunately, I wouldn't know what or how to fix it.

I have been reading the HELP files for 6.0 trying to figure out if the software
polls the printer to get the 'paper width' size in the setup window (this can be changed manually)- sometimes it seems like it and sometimes not. There is a button labeled 'Set Max Width' that I cannot find any documentation for either. It seems that it is printing on one width and cutting on another- or maybe not .Slangsc- I will give that a try- Thanks Gene |

Same proble here, not polling-- Wasatch told me that you need to click on the set max witdh button under setup whenever you change the media.

In the older version (ColoRip) It won't set the width unless I actually go to the setup screen. Even then, it only changes automatically if it's a shorter width than before. I have to click the button get a reading on every media change. Sounds like it hasn't been changed in the newer version. The software is constantly polling the printer, it just doesn't make any changes in the setup unless you tell it to.
