Question Wasatch SoftRip 6.0 ?'s

So I've got 6.0 up and running, but I'm having a little bit of trouble actually finding the "PRINT" button. More specifically, after the item is RIP'd I used to go to LAYOUT then OK a couple of times on a couple of screens. Now in the new LAYOUT tab, the only way I've figured to get it to print is to uncheck the "HOLD FOR LAYOUT" check box...surely I'm simply missing it somewhere as it just seems like that isn't the right way of doing it. Anyone else just a little confused by it? At first glance, it does look like this will be a better interface, but I just need to get used to what does what again. TIA...

Make sure your unit configuration has the "Immediate Print" button checked and then when you're in the layout screen, click the printer icon along the top and it'll RIP & Print. If you need to just RIP it, you've got the "RIP" button right to the left of it, which will RIP only. That should do it. If you need help, call me, I'm in Lynnwood.

It took me a while to get used to the way wasatch prints, even with 5.15...
I think they should put a big "Just freakin' print it" button somewhere - no check boxes etc.

So far Im liking version 6.0, the work flow seems to be much smoother.

I think 6.0 rivals Onyx quite well. Unless you used the high-end color management tools that Onyx offers for profiling (which 8 out of 10 shops don't), Wasatch can do everything Onyx can do, and at a better price point and better ease of use. I was running Onyx until March of this year, would never go back.

They always seem to be one step behind Onyx though. Wait till Onyx has a new feature, then add it to the next version of theirs. Can't say if it's a good product or not as I haven't used it, that's just what I've noticed.

I have not used Onyx, but one thing it does have that Wasatch does not, is light ink control, to help dial in the ink limits for profiling. The plus for Wasatch that Onyx does not have is the Precision Stocchastic Screens for smooth gradient printing.

I've been fumbling around with it and eventually get it to print, but it's usually not by me knowing how. I still can't quite figure out what combo of checkboxes is truly doing what. I thought I did, and then I go to print something else and what seemed to work the last time isn't now...at least that's the way it seems. I'm usually a quick study at software, but this one has me scratching my head a bit too much for some reason.
