Default VersaWorks--Update to Version 2 or not

My VersaCamm SP300V is currently at firmware version 6.2.
My VersaWorks software is at version 1.7.1.
There is a firmware update for the VersaCamm to 6.3 and a software update of VersaWorks to 2.0.2 currently available.
I'm not one to fix something that isn't broken---so the question is, is there any compelling reason to update my firmware and software?
Also, has anybody had any problems doing this?
Thanks for any info.
Chuck

I have not noticed the firmware update as out ADSL is down at present.

however we have benn running VersaWorks 6.0.4 which is the latest version for a about 5 weeks now. No problems at all.

If the firware update is only recent, i would hold off on that for a little while but the Versaworks seems fine.

Default Don't do VW2 unless

I am like you if it ain't broke don't fix it. I had VW 1.5 something on 2 machines and one of them auto updated to 2.01 or something like that. What a mess. It installs in seperate sub directory, does not properly convert the printer on the network, leaves a dead icon to the earlier install on the desktop and once I sorted out all that mess it had a problem co-existing with XP and kept crashing ruining all sorts of material.
I gave up on VW and went to Onyx. Never a problem and I mean never.
I still have one machine with the older version of VW which I run occasionally for small jobs - non critical so I can use up my roland media.
But after thats gone thats it. If it is working for you and does what you need my advice would be to stay where you are.

Thumbs up I did it!

After reading the update documentation from Roland (which you can read before you go ahead and update) I decided to update VersaWorks to 2.0.4 (the most current version). BEFORE I did this, I backed up my old install of VersaWorks just in case I might need to go back. The update worked perfectly--no lost profiles, no lost jobs and LOTS of new features. It runs like a charm. If anyone has had problems updating VersaWorks, it is probably because you were using version 1.5 or EARLIER. There are specific things that you must do if you are using early versions of VersaWorks. Just read the documentation and all will go well.

I am glad the update went well. I have found the latest version to work fine.
