Default Corel Fountain Fills

I am using Corel for design and output to SoftRip. I am trying to get an acceptable output from a fountain fill. On screen in Corel and SoftRip, it looks fine, but upon printing it just plain sucks - quite a bit of banding at the color transitions. Ideas as to output settings? I'm exporting as an EPS from Corel.

In this example, it is supposed to have the white to yellow to orange (smooth transition is the point).

Corel does not export gradients well. Either try creating the gradient in another application (Flexi, Illistrator). Honestly PhotoShop will put out the best gradients.

These were done in Flexi 7.5. The blue "chrome" effect looks fine, but I still get some poor transition from yellow to orange, but the orange to red looks fine.

Chris,

There may just be some colors in that gradent that are not easily produced with CMYK. Orange is generally a fairly difficult color to reproduce well.

Here is another I did totally within Flexi to see how it compares to Corel in the gradient. The gradient (as seen in the digital pic) goes from Orange to yellow, to a strip of white, then to yellow again. These are unacceptable results. Is this just a color combo to avoid then? I had no idea. Kind of a bummer really.
