I was given the opp. to make 2 signs for a local recycling company for their yard, I know the owner through my other job and he is giving me a shot at his sign biz. He wouldn't tell me any pricing he currently pays as he wants to see what I can do for him.
2 signs 3' x 3' printed on oracal calendared laminated with 3M cast Over Lam. The signs are solid yellow with a 1" red border all the way around. Black Text: LEEDS
CUSTOMERS ALL DRIVERS MUST CHECK WITH SCALE BEFORE DUMPING LETTERS RANGE FROM 6" TO 2" I am mounting to a piece of plywood or prefferrably a piece of aluminum. I know the other signs that were made for him were just cut vinyl on a painted plywood. It only took me 5 mins to design and 1 hour on the printer to print both signs, I had 30" material so it is seamed in the middle where there aren't any letters. What should I charge for this? I figured 30" x 8ft of vinyl & same for lam... extra 2 feet for contour cutting after lam 6"-8" extra per piece.Does around $100 per signs sound out of reason? I was thinking of even more??? Does this sound reasonable or way off track? This could lead to me doing all 3 of his facilities as well as his fleet although unlikely since the other 2 and the fleet are an hour away... but ya never know!! Business of any form is still business. Thanks

My signs like that range from $10-25 a square foot. You have to decide on a sign material(substrate) to get some true feedback

aluminum and crezon are not cheap materials. I would definately be going for more. $140.00 each on 064 aluminum.

You're name isn't Jeremy by chance is it?
For your method we'd be charging at my shop about $160/piece on MDO. However we would do it UV now, and that would be about $125/piece.

No Jeremy here...thanks for the info, I ended up putting the print on a thin sheet of alum. and bonding that to a pc of 3/4 plywood that I painted with waterproof enamel. I even put a small overhang with flashing on the top to direct water over the print not down the top.
Thinking I will try for $140 EA. Thanks!
