I'm trying to come up with an idea for an installation price for a wrap on a 24' trailer. It's 7 foot high, but it has chrome the bottom 2 feet, so the wrap would be 5 feet high. Both sides and rear at 7' x 8'. He says it Rivetless sides. I haven't seen the pictures of it yet and won't send him an estimate until I do.
I've got the pricing down for the print, but wondering what most people do for figuring installation. Do you use different square foot charges, or just try to guess the hours needed and multiply by rate? |

I've heard of both methods, but we use actual installation hour estimates and multiply it by our company shop rate. If we assume 24'l x 5'h with no rivets or any obstacles (hinges, lights, vents, windows, wheel wells etc) I would estimate the following: 2 hours prep and cleaning time for the trailer 6 verticle panels on 54" material at 30 mins per panel for EACH side Guessing 2 panels for the rear if you are doing it at 30 mins per panel Total prep and install time I would charge: 9 hours. We bill clients $45 per hour for shop time. Add 10 mins per obsticle per panel touching the obsticle (in case it falls on a seam) and then another 30 mins overall wiggle room. Also note: most rivetless trailers have seams down the side, don't forget to cut those or your vinyl may rip as the trailer heats up/ cools down.
