Default Large run labels

Hello all,
Just wanting to see if I can get some input. I am designing labels and identity for a national brand of new car cleaning products. In the process I offered to throw my name in the hat for the actual production of the labels. Now I know it is going to be hard to compete with "larger" companies on this but I really want the job. Basically the first run will be 6 products each in a 5,000 quantity for a midwest launch. I am wondering if anyone has done something like this and how to properly price it. They are going to be full color wrap around labels with lamination. Sizes range from 5" x 7" to 6" x 6" . I don't know if this is enough info or not, but let me know what you all think.

Thanks,
Kurt

Personally, I'd not waste my time on it. You don't have the right kind of setup to do that volume. Your pricing could never compete with those that do.

well why not give em a quote anyways, who knows what other prices they get.
some clients - I know, they're few and far between - just want a headache-free solution to their supply problem.
just make sure you know exactly how much it costs you to produce these and enough markup to make it worth your while..

That is a very large order. I cant see how you would be able to sell them to the company at a competitve price AND make any kind of money. If you really want the job you should try to outsource it to a roll label company that will wholesale them to you, which may be difficult.

I see what you guys mean. I'd like to do the job, but it seems like it might be to much hassle. I looked into Stouse a little bit. I just want to make something on the job and sometime it seems like outsourcing kills your profit.

I guess it is what it is...

Thanks,
Kurt

call a local screen/offset/sticker printer and get the quote yourself. You may cry.

I know that Universal Products (http://www.u-p.com/roll2.html) offer this service to the trade. They are very professional and already supply many companies in US. 'May worth a try!

'Just my 0.02 cents...
