Default Does anyone offer written warrenties

I am bidding on cut vinyl only job(1 color) for six 53' trailers and the customer is asking for the warrenty specs with the quote. Is it customary to just use the number of years that the vinyl is speced at ei. 7Year film gets 7 year warrenty. How hard do you think it is to get the manufacture to back faulty film or will they play their "faulty install" card.
Thanks

If you are going to offer a warranty on a job like this you need to talk to your dealer and the vinyl mfg and get it in wrighting form them as to what they warranty on the vinyl and then make your decision.

Default Warranty

I receintly attanded a 3M vehicle wrap seminar. There was a guy there who is a "certified 3M vinyl applier" He showed us a form that he fills out on jobs that will be covered by 3Ms warranty. The form details the proper inspection & prep of the vehicle prior to vinyl application including an adheasion test where you apply a 1" wide swatch of vinyl, allow it to stay on the surface for 20min. then pull it off using a special scale which measures the grams of tension needed to peal the vinyl off. There are places where the installer & client signs. The process is quite thorough & the 3M applier told us that without first being a 3M certified applier, the warranty would probably not be honored, even if you went thru all the steps. If you want to get the factory warranty, you'll most likely need to hire a certified installer to apply the vinyl.
