Default A rush design and print job

Customer comes in on Saturday (Fourth of July weekend) and needed a complete logo for his new carpet cleaning van. He has several jobs on a military base on Tuesday morning and they wont let him on base with out his company info on the vehicle. (So Begins my day of hell) We spent 2 hours doing the layout for his logo as well as the rest of what he wanted in the van. Tons of interruptions later we are finished. I give him a price w/install and one wo/install. He chose to do the install him self ( so don't blame me for the bubbles.... LOL) I do the prints up and call him when they are done. Today he brought the van by to show and tell me how good it looks and the he has already had 10 call for work form it (I guess the signs are working). At any rate I am babbling on this too much. Let me know what you think.

Looks good!
Seriously, you let him install all that himself???
He's done a good job!

Did you use laminate on the perforated window signs?

There was no perf used on the windows, it is solid vinyl. No it is not laminated. I tried to talk him into it but he was being a cheep $%#@*( As far as the install goes..... he did a good job of getting it straignt on the van.... but it looks like it has the measles. Let me put it this way " if I ever did a install that looks that bad I would quit the business!"

Looks Great! Nice design. Some just have to do it themselves, ya know!

Personally I would rather someone else do install. I can make more money printing than I can charge for installing, plus if they mess it up its their fault and I get paid to re-print.

I differ there. I wouldn't even suggest that they could install it themselves.
Installation is an important part of the job (and of our trade) & needs to be done properly with attention to details such as cleaning and making sure things go where they should to look best.

I wouldn't have suggested he could have it without laminate either.
All these things are an essential part of the service we offer as signmakers - making sure they get a good job from start to finish.

Neil,

99% of the stuff I sell is customer applied (about 50% of that is wholesale so that part is not a problem). Most everything I do is shipped out of state so I do not even have the option of applying...

some customers come in knowing what they want. I have doneseveral jobs for this customer befor and done it the right way. But in this case he needed it sooner that I was able to do the insatll. I warned him about the risks and he understood them, he even signed a waver. When this set of decals gets messed up then her will bring it in and we will redo the whole job for him at his expence.
