Default Something unique

I did some printed signage for a customer, and he wanted to know if I could print a pic of his boat on the river for his spa room.
Turns out he wanted it to go around 2 walls!

I told him if we're gonna do it, then he should set up the photo properly.
He went back up the river with a tripod and got up at dawn and shot a whole card full of panoramic pics at 6 megapixel resolution.

The result was 3 pics stitched together and enlarged to 16' long x nearly 4'high.

I printed it in 2 pieces onto 3551 and laminated it. He sanded the wall and I went out and coated it with enamel to give it a smooth receptive backing.

I put a 2" strip into the corner and overlapped the prints to butt up to the corner. I figure if it's going to shrink, then it'll pull away from the corners revealing the printed strip underneath.

He gave me a hand installing it (wet). Then stood back and went WOW!

This is his favourite spot where he and his family go. Now he can jump in his spa and immerse himself in the picture too.

Footnote - I did the lettering on the boat too, so this picture's a real showcase for me.

Smile Very Nice

Very nice! I was just wondering if anyone has used that actual wallpaper material I have seen advertised! Seems that might have been easier, Just curious. I have been wanting to do that to my trophy room in my basement!
Looks Great!!!!!

Super!! I've got a client who has been talking about the same thing. Do you mind if I download your pic to show him how his could look. I'll give you credit for the job.

What does it cost to produce or what does it cost retail?

What are you charging your customer for a job like that!

I charged $500 cash for that one. A bit low I know but it was more a personal job than a typical commercial sign job. I enjoyed the challenge and was really happy with how it turned out.

John, thanks for asking, of course you and anyone else can feel free to download the pic and use it to show customers. It's amazing what people will dream up once they know what's possible.

I'd like to do one for myself too! I've got some nice panorama's of my "favourite place" - down the beach where I grew up.
Just gotta find the wall space...

Nice man That is really nice

Did he supply the picture or did you have to mesh it all together?
