some forums don't like you to do that because they may have other vendors paying to advertise and they don't want you to promote other companies. I'm apart of many other forums online, and one of the photography forums i'm apart of, when you mention a company that sells camera equipment...ie...samys camera, if you type blah blah blah samys camera....what actually shows up is blah blah blah ******** camera.

i wish that i was the one who figured it out, but it's nice to have a vendor that knows what the hell they're doing because a lot of them out there don't.

Sad but true.

So, do you know the model of spectrophotometer that was used? I'm sure there are some who are curious since backlit and clear can be such a pain to get decent color from.

they used my Eye-One Rev D that i purchased from them. It came with the Eye-One Proof package. The guy was really happy because i guess he uses a Rev A and he says the Rev A is super slow....i gave the guy crap by joking to him that his company ripped me off with my color management training because i told him he didn't show me how to profile backlits...but he told me "some secrets in life you can't just let everyone know". I'm just glad i wasn't charged for the custom profile.

I"ll bet his secret is to profile with a white backer that's as close to neutral white as possible then measure the lightbox with the diffuser cap on the i1. Then you edit the white point a profile editor to the white measured from the box.

I've never done it, but i've heard from someone i trust that it works.

actually, he had a light box is he brought and he measured the linearization on the light box, and did everything else normally....i guess that's what makes the difference...
