Default Mutoh 1608 hybrid flatbed

We are researching the viability of a flatbed printer, and this printer seems like it might be good for us, and the price is very attractive compared to other flatbeds. Since this printer technically isn't on the market yet, does anyone have any information that they'd like to share about it? Any opinions on entry-level flatbeds in general? We simply are not able to consider a Vutek or similar high-end printer, so it must be at the lower-end of the price scale. Are there any others in this price range (< $50k) to consider? I've been warned to stay away from the low-end Colorspans and don't know what else is out there yet as I'm just beginning my research on the subject. Thanks much!

i heard from my local mutoh suplier (spandex) that their bio inks have been having problems, especially in sealed (laminated) siuations where they are actually growing mould. So i would look into this.

And you say you have been told to stay away from the colourspans, do you mean the now called HP 35000/45000 series? If so, may i ask why as this is a machine i was possibly looking at for my 1st venture into the UV market.

Another option for you is to possibly look at 2nd hand machines, its not a option for me here in New Zealand, but in the USA there are a few people you can buy through, im sure some people on here will have ideas. I have seen some very impressive deals on some amazing macines.

I've been told that the ColorSpan 54XX printers are plagued with issues...not sure about the UVR and UVX lines.
