Default hp 5000 head strike

We loaded a new roll of media today to continue printing a large job and while the printer was loading the paper the print head snagged an edge pretty bad. It left a big black smear and pulled back the corner of the paper. I trimmed off the edge and continued to load it. I'm now getting a shadow on all the text and the images have a "halo" or shadow to them as well. I tried recovering the printheads but it still has the problem.
What can I do to correct this? I have to make a Monday deadline and I'm already cutting it close. I can't lose a day of printing.
Thanks for any help

Have you tried pulling out the head and then putting it back in to force the printer to recalibrate. That or change out the affected head for a new one.

Thanks for the reply. I don't have access to new printheads until tomorrow but I'll try removing and replacing the printheads this morning.
Thanks again
