OK guys, can someone tell me how to fix this. INTERNAL ERROR; SHUTDOWN CARRIAGE AXIS FAILURE on the NOVAJET 880

sounds like you need new bushings. They are a very consumable item on these printers and should be replaced about every 6-12 months on an active printer.

As a temporary measure, clean the metal shaft with denatured alcohol then spray some light lubricant on a paper towel and wipe the shaft. You may get a little more printing done before the bushings gunk up further.

Taking it apart and cleaning them will only leave your head sloppy and contribute to banding issues.

I used to run an Encad 850, there are Encad technical bulletins available through Kodak.

that should help if you have any more problems you can look through kodak 1200 tech bulletin 9, I run that printer and it has the same error messages
