Printer: Roland SOLJET PRO II V - SC-545 EX
Default Service Contracts on Flatbeds?

For the shops here running flatbeds, what are the extended service contracts running on your particular machine after the first year warantee is over?

Also how reliable has your machine been during the first year? Are you happy with the printer you went with or would you buy another one if you had it to do over again?

Thanks in advance.

The last place I worked, we had a McDermott Colorpsan 9840UV 98incher that was always broke. The extended service contract was around $25k/annually. We just called tech support, and they sent me the parts since I'm a Roland tech. My current printer is an L&P which runs all day long, and has only a few issues now and then. Much better machine than the Colorspan, although it's 3 times more expensive.

Yeah I really wanted to get the L&P, but the owners didn't like the price tag. We have had TONS of issues with our 9840, and they just send me the parts as well. Not an official printer tech, but have plenty of skill and ability, so it was just easier that way.

PS: It's MacDermid, not McDermott =) Though it's HP now.

We're about to upgrade to the latest L&P printer in a few months. Just waiting for them to work out the few bugs in it. The sample prints are mind boggling though.
