Was at a show recently and someone was talking about oils, fingerprints, etc on flatbed prints and we were discussing how we get rid of them.
Curious to see what others do...of course we all wear gloves here but we normally clean everything that is not foamcore related with denatured alchohol because it's a little stronger for things like aluminum, pvc, coro but we clean foamcore with isopropyl alchohol. I think the only problems we've ever had is with aluminum because even if you rub your arm up against it oils can transfer to the surface. What does everyone else do? Best, |

We just clean everything with Isopropyl. We had some bad experience with painted aluminum with denatured, started to eat the paint, and made the surface tacky.
Gloves...now why didn't I think of that, do you use something like cotton inspector gloves?

I was wondering if anyone had used an actual surface prep solution such as
http://www.triangleinx.com/triangle/...gory=be_uv_arg Every now and then we'll have an issue with adhesion on 10mil coroplast. I usually just use isopropyl, but I'd like to find something a little stronger. Maybe I'll try the denatured- I already have some on hand since I use it as a coolant on my router. |
