Hello,
Does anyone have experience with the Raster Printers RP-720UVZ and Daytona? I am trying to compare these with the printers from Colorspan. The printers from DuPont and Durst might exceed the budget right now, as the company I work for is trying to climb out of a hole. Thanks! JoJo |

I haven't really heard any good things about raster printers.. I personally wouldn't touch one.. I know of a couple suppliers around that have dropped the line.

Ditto...
I had a customer that went to SGIA last year to compare the Raster versus the ColorSpan and Raster couldn't even get the printer up and running at the show, at least from what he said. I've heard the same things from other dealers...they brought on the line to compete in the entry-level hybrid market, but can't find success in them because the support is so bad. I've had lots of experience with ColorSpan and their UV printers are pretty solid. Good support, good profitable product. Matt |

I was at SGIA last year and the Raster was running.....just REALLY slow. Seriously though.....do not waste your time.
Ironically, they could not get the Colorspan 9840 to run all that great when I was at their booth. If your budget is small check out the Colorspan 54xx series, as long as they get it setup and running before you pay =) Just out of curiosity...what's wrong with your Vutek? |

I bought the RasterCrapper 720UVZ last year and it was a total piece of shyte. Tubeslight sold it and screwed us out of $10k after we were forced to make them take it back. It was never engineered right and released long before it was ready. After it was installed we had Tubeslights tech guy in our shop twenty one days out of the first month. I could go on and on about the horror stories with that machine.
Do tons of research before you buy a machine and make sure you get everything in writing from the salesman. You may need it when you go to court. |
