Default cleaner

Does any one know a cleaner for switching from dye/pigment to reactive dye or dye acid? Can I use purified water as a cleaner?

My, you are a tenacious little monkey, aren't you?

What's next? Do-it-yourself dentistry? Running w scissors? Cooking up your own fuel for your car on the stovetop?

Since you didn't heed advice and admonitions before from folks on this board (some of whom are engineers), why would anyone think you'd take any reasonable advice now? Just in case you WOULD though, here goes:

As I mentioned in the other thread, dozens of engineers spend years tweaking the ink properties (viscosity, surface tension, conductivity, absorbance, pH, etc....) and many other engineers work on all the other parts of a printer to make this SYSTEM work. It would only make sense to me to put the original inks back into your printer (or other 3rd party inks of the same ilk). However, with all of your recent "science experiments" with aqueous ink in this equipment, you'd now probably have to REPLACE any and all parts that touch ink (including the (gulp) PRINT HEADS). This will be expensive. It's ironic that you were so concerned with the incremental expense of the inks and media and print resolution in a previous thread but you were cool with risking ruining a $20k printer by doing your ill-advised ink change-over.

Good luck

Rick, let him go. It's just a printer, and it's just ink. All ink is the same anyway. In fact, I bet if he puts milk in a spare cleaning cart he could have white ink. Hmmm, maybe a packet of instant breakfast would make it stick better.

Thank you for the responds.

I don’t want to debate about what kind of ink that I want put into my printer. I just want to know if any one here knows a cleaner for switching from dye/pigment to reactive dye or dye acid. I ask this question because, I got a job print on fabric. And my printer is working just fine.

Thanks again for the responds

Why has everybody made such a big deal about WHAT KIND INK HE WANTS IN HIS PRINTER!

This is a community of incredibly (for the most part) intelligent people, who are here, to help one another. So, stop harping on him for HIS decision on HIS printer, and help him. Otherwise, whats the point continuing a dialogue that you don't/won't EVER see eye-to-eye on.

That reallty does irk me, shutting out ideas, is shutting out creativity, whether or not his decision on what type of ink to use was the best one or not, HELP HIM. Maybe you can find a revolutionary way to do something. Christ.

If you want to print on Fabric, I would look into Rolands Dye-Sub inks which are made to run in a Roland printer. These inks print wonderfully in a Versacamm (from what Ive seen). I believe once you switch you cannot go back to Eco-Sol inks though.
