Printer: HP DesignJet 5500uvps, Zund UVJet 215-Plus

I'm using a zund 215-plus.... it doesn't have white ink, and we are trying to print directly on plexiglass.... it doesn't have a problem with the clear plexiglass, it has a problem when we put white vinyl on the back to create a white background, the vinyl removes the ink from the plex.... is there some kind of product that will NOT do this? that will make it white background, but will not adhere to the uv ink?
Thanks Also, How can this ink be completely removed from plexiglass? |

trying that now.....
any kind of adhesive removes it from the print, mainly only on full bleeds where the edge of the ink is not closed on the material.... |

What film did you use as background?
Almost all of translucent and transparent films has very active acrylilic clue that dissolve your ink. try to use a crystal clear laminate film as a first protection layer. Laminate films clue not so active as general films |

Not all acrylics are alike. some are much more friendly to inks.
I would check my original adhesion of the UV digital inks to the acrylic. Do this with a tape test and be agressive. If you don't have adhesion with the UV digital first, it will not improve with the white film...and will probably get worse. I know of a wipe that helps UV inks adhere to acrylics and PC, but you would still need to test. It will depend upon your specific acrylic. |

Hi!
May be useful: Print one side of the plexi and apply the white vinyl onto the other side (not onto the printed). Hope this helps. Gabor |

Triangle Digital http://www.triangledigital.biz/trian...category=be_uv has an adhesion-promoter for substrates like acrylic. Look for Bond Aid II and Ceptor.
