Ok, My printer has been doing this for sometime now, the first 8" of print comes out a lighter shade than the rest, its very wierd, and I cant figure it out, Heater not warming that spot? head speed slowing or something, it couldnt be the heads, I just havent got a clue why it would be doing this. It hasnt really bothered me until now becuase I have a print that I have to tile and the colour difference is very noticeable. This happened to anyone else.
Im running 4 heads on a 6 head machine, maybe I just bite the bullet and get the other 2 heads fixed. |

is it a gradual difference or a hard line of change?

Which part looks correct, the first 8" or after that?

good question, its only a slight difference, so how would you know which is meant to be correct or not?, you could say either, but i would say the its after that 8" becuase it is the majority of the print

try having your printer print some color stripes for a couple of inches before the print starts. Most RIPs have these available to be turned on side, both sides, or both sides and horizontally before the print.
If your RIP doesn't have this, look for it within your printer. Many have them there. This way the heads will fire for a while and purge/warmup before your print starts. Worse case, print a black, 4 color bar before your actual job.

That will get you printing, but doesn't necessarily fix a potential problem. It does sound like your heads aren't primed. Could be your dampers are leaking air.

dampers may be losing air or blocked, i have some ordered so ill get back once they come in, I have a whole range of things on order, dampers, cap tops, head, pump, the printers needs a good refurbish. ill check back after they are all changed and let you know.
