Printer: Mimaki JV3-160S w/ Triangle Inks
Default

Seems almost the natural progression for us.

The requirements for our next printer are rigid to at least 1", and white ink. There are a few rigid solvent machines, and the white ink is just starting to filter to the market, but with the health concerns with solvents, switching to UV seems like the logical next step.

Like I said before, we printed more in the first month of having the JV3 than we did with the Colorspan and Roland combined before. And we had an idea, 4x8 alumacore - $70, ink - $16, hour design time - $38, ten minutes to print. How much do you sell 4x8 full color signs for?? Kick them out for less than $100 in materials and in under ten minutes through the printer, and once they finish printing you can hand it to the customer.

Wholesale them to the competitors, or sell direct to the public, either way it would be a win win situation for us. Just convince our competitors that they couldn't compete on price, and that time/cost savings makes it worth it for us to print them. And tell customers they can sign-off on a design, have a complimentary pepsi while they are waiting, and take their sign with them ten minutes later.
